We believe that there are no limits to what, where and when you can learn. Unlike the classic Kahoot! live game, challenges are self-paced, and are not limited by your location or time. Questions and answers are displayed on the learners’ device and they can complete the challenge at their own pace.
Why play learner-paced challenges?
A self-paced kahoot is not limited by walls, hours, or large groups, which opens up many possibilities. With the questions and answers on learners’ screens, this new way to play increases focus, promotes accuracy over speed, and decreases guesswork. This is why they’re especially helpful for review and practice of important content.
You can use this way to play to extend learning beyond live games for…
- Review and preparing for tests
- In-class work stations
- Replaying live games to practice and reinforce knowledge
- Homework assignments
- Work in study groups or challenge each other to study and compete
Challenge player limits
The max amount of players depends on how you use Kahoot!:

Is there a way to remove a player if their log in name is inappropriate?
Will players be able to play UNLIMITED number of times? Or is there a limit of 1 game per player? I didn't see that in the settings.
How can I allow a student to play a challenge all over again in order to help her see her progress?
Please could you either make a way where we can use email domains as a requirement for log in or a way where we can remove students from challenge games due to inappropriate nicknames?
Now we are doing e learning. Is it possible if I can join with my students and play it but each one is from her home
How can I edit the Kahoot challenge I made to extend the time of expiration? I would also like to extend the # of players. How can I edit?
echernobai ... do u get any answer for your problem ?
My students can't play without the app on their Chromebooks. How do I set up a challenge they can play on chromebooks without the app?
Can students see their classmates' score and their ranking in the class when they complete a "challenge?"
I would never use this again. To easy to have an offensive name and then nothing you can do about it
Is there a way to GET RID of the due date in the challenge please?
I agree. Unless you can come up with a way to make them log in with their emails (or connect it to Google Classroom, or something to that effect), this is a really great resource that I cannot use.
actually, after playing around a bit more, I found that the way to make it a challenge is AFTER the game is created, which doesn't make much sense. It would make more logical sense to make it a personal challenge while in the creating stage. It is also, very hard to change the date. At this point you can only schedule about 2 weeks out. I'd like to put up a class and be able to post throughout the entire school year, so this is a hindrance. Lastly, it does connect to Google CR, but again, it only links to GCR AFTER you have created the game, click PLAY, then pick CHALLENGE. It will generate a link or code or allow you to share to GCR or REMIND. Unfortunately, it's not as intuitive as I had hoped, but it's a decent basic, entertaining way to assess. (Kahoot should hire me to consult. I'd be happy to test market and help them rearrange their formatting issues.)
One last thing: At the moment, the premium version is FREE. You have to enter a credit card number, but I'm guessing that's so they can auto-rebill you after a year. I'm not sure how long it lasts but I'm fooling around with it now, so I can decide if I want to pay for the features or not and decide if I should recommend it to other teachers in my school. It's worth a try.
WoW!!! That was great feedback.
Thanks

If I do my kahoot as a challenge will I be able to see what their scores are and which questions they missed or how many they missed? I thought it said I coutd set up a video time with my class so we can play live but it won't let me do that -- any suggestions???
How do you deal with inappropriate nicknames in a Kahoot challenge? I would like to delete them from the leader board but don't see how. I don't want random nicknames because I would like to know which of my students are playing.
I think the only way is to delete them before they start. If it were me, I'd set requirements & freeze the screen before I opened up the game. ONLY AFTER everyone was logged in and ready to play would I release the frozen screen. I guess it depends on your smart board/projector capabilities.

I believe that the suggestion meant that maybe you can use a zoom video session to get everyone logged in and started? If you assign a login time, you can all play together and don't really need to have any video.
Not sure if it is possible for students to play the game more than once? I would like it to be that way if there is a setting. Thanks.
@mjyile: The students can, indeed, play more than once. In fact, one of my students hijacked the top-5 board with his name on all 5 spots.
@Kahoot!: The following settings would be ideal: 1) require a sign-in, so that they can only use approved names (maybe through a Google Classroom extension?), and 2) Allow the teacher to set the number of times a student can play (from once to unlimited).
How can they play more than once? I don't see any way to do so without using a different nickname.
They do need to use a different nickname, but the difference can be slight. Like I said, my top five spots were (using a fake name): Johnny, johnny (lowercase j), johnny., (with a period at the end), Johnny1, and Johnnny).
There should be an edit button. I would like to extend the challenge as only a few students participated.
I would like to ask about what time zone are the times for setting the deadline date and in the asign section. I am in the central European time and it is pretty tough as I am not sure what time option to use If I want to make the deadline midnight in central Europe. Thanks for the answer.
I have the same exact questions as all of the other questions listed. However, there are no responses from Kahoot!!! What is the purpose of this questionnaire board if we don't receive any official answers???!!! This is very frustrating.
Indeed, where are the answers from Kahoot????
Can the deadline for a challenge be extended? How can we do that?
Hey, to extend the deadline for a challenge you have to create a new challenge by going into PLAY and assigning a new challenge again...or at least that's what I've done. It's like you're just making a new one. Good luck!
