Kahoot! Lecture: How to host
- Log in to your Kahoot! account.
- Locate the kahoot you want to host in your Library tab or the Discover page.
- Click on the kahoot to open its details page.
- Click the Host live button and select Lecture mode from the carousel at the bottom of the screen.

Click Start and let players join the game.

Kahoot! Lecture: Specifications

The host can start the game without waiting for everyone to join. This makes it easy to dive straight into the content!
💡 Players can join after the game has started. The PIN will be displayed at the bottom of your screen, and you can click the Join button to expand the PIN at any time during the game.
💡 You can lock the game and stop players from joining by clicking the padlock icon next to the Join button.
- The host controls when the next question or slide appears. Click the Next button on the right side of the screen before each question, allowing you to smoothly guide the conversation.
💡 Alternatively, you can control the navigation with your keyboard using the next arrow or space bar, or a clicker. -
Scoreboards are hidden unless you choose to display them. This way, participants can concentrate on the lecture without being sidetracked by competitive scores.
- Hosts can decide whether to show the final podium at the end of a lecture. This allows for a focus on engagement and discussion rather than competition.
💡 The podium can be revealed with a click if needed.
