Offline Kahoot client for classroms with no internet access.
I've been using Kahoot about 2 years, and never in my life have I felt grateful for an online service before. However, the school that I currently work for doesn't receive cell phone signals well and doesn't allow us teachers to share the Wi-Fi password with students, which makes it impossible for me to use Kahoot with my students. On top of that, since I usually work about 35-40 hours a week, sometimes I don't have enough time to prepare some extra material with which the students can revise, so Kahoot comes in handy when I'm out of options. I'm also often unable to create my own quizzes due to my hectic schedule, so I have to rely on quizzes created by other users.
I'm also sort of experienced in web technologies and I've been entertaining the idea of creating a desktop application that that is similar to Kahoot into which I can import quizzes exported from Kahoot and let the students join through a Wi-Fi hotspot created on the classroom computer so that they won't need to use cellular data or the school's Wi-Fi since they will be connecting to the local server hosted on the classroom computer.
The reason I'm posting this is naturally the legal side of this issue. I'm not sure if making such a system violates the user agreement or not. I have read the terms and conditions page and there is an article about accessing resources by any means other than Kahoot's own, but I wonder if the circumstances that I'm under could make an exception.
I guess I could still create the system that I talked about without adding any facilities that import quizzes from Kahoot and create my own quizzes, but as I mentioned in the first paragraph, I'm often unable to do such thing, which is why I found importing quizzes from Kahoot for classroom use a viable option.
I'll be most grateful If you can tell me why and why not it would be alright for me to work on such a system. Thanks in advance.
Y'know, this would be brilliant for a way to get rid of the bots and other hacks. I'd love it if we could offline the game and have students connect through a local connection somehow.
