Creating a Kahoot! account allows you to create, host and share your own games, also called “kahoots”. Simply click “Kahoots” in the top navigation bar to access the page where your games are stored.
Kahoot actions
Within the Kahoots section, you can navigate between different lists. On the top-right of each list are two buttons that let you switch between an expanded card view or compact list view of kahoots. Whether in expanded or compact view, you can perform the following actions with each kahoot on the list:
- Click the "▷” or “ Play" button to host a live game.
- Click the “🏆” or “Challenge” button to start a challenge.
- Click the “☆” button to add the kahoot to your Favorites list.
- Click the “ ⋮ “ button to view more options (options may vary depending on your subscription).
- Click the creator’s username to view a list of public kahoots created by that person.
- Click anywhere else in the list item to open the kahoot’s details page.
Kahoot lists
Using the sidebar on the left-hand side, you can navigate between different lists of kahoots. You can also use the search bar to search kahoots by keyword or tag across all lists.
My Kahoots
Kahoots you made that are visible to everyone or only you are located here. You can click the “Visible to” icon or text to quickly adjust a kahoot’s visibility. You can also create folders in this list to organize kahoots into (premium subscription required).
If you're a student, you may be limited to making kahoots visible to only you.
If, for any reason, you exit the creator (e.g.: browser closes or computer crashes), edits are automatically saved as “unpublished changes”. Unpublished changes will not be present in live games or challenges. But you can edit a kahoot with unpublished changes to access those changes and continue editing.
Team space
You must be an owner, admin, or team member with a paid subscription to have access to a team space.
Kahoots you or your team members made that are visible to your team only are located here. As an owner or admin of a team, you can create folders in this list to organize kahoots into. Members of a team can organize kahoots into existing folders, but cannot create new folders.
If, for any reason, you exit the creator (e.g.: browser closes or computer crashes), edits are automatically saved as “unpublished changes”. Unpublished changes will not be present in live games or challenges. But you or other members can edit a kahoot with unpublished changes to access those changes and continue editing.
Favorites
On every kahoot’s details page is a ☆ icon in the description area. Click a kahoot’s ☆ icon to add it to your Favorites list. Favorites can be kahoots located under My Kahoots, your Team space, or your Shared with me list. They could also be kahoots you found using our Discover page. You cannot edit other users’ kahoots, but you can duplicate them and edit your own copy that will be stored under My Kahoots.
Shared with me
Kahoots shared with you by others are located here. You cannot edit other users’ kahoots, but you can duplicate them and edit your own copy that will be stored under My Kahoots.
My Drafts
When you’re creating a new kahoot, your edits are saved automatically even if you don’t click Finish. Unfinished kahoots should be saved as a draft, which you can find in this list.
Please note that there are some differences in how the draft mode functions in our web version and our mobile app. Learn about mobile app drafts here.
