How to get started with Kahoot! Sparks
- Log in to your account and go to the Discover page through the left-side panel.
- Find the Spark creativity option in the Categories row or go directly to https://sparks.kahoot.it/game/templates.
- Select one of the available options.
- Click on the Create creative challenge button if you want to create your own Sparks challenge.

How to create Kahoot! Sparks Creative Challenge
- Select the Create Creative Challenge option.
- Define the Creative challenge - the primary result of this Sparks session.
After submitting answers to all the sparks, players receive a random set of sparks created by other participants. They are supposed to be used to complete the creative challenge. - Define the sparks - questions or tasks in your challenge. The responses will be remixed to inspire the creative challenge.
☝️ You can add up to 5 sparks. Click the New Spark button at the bottom of the list. - Define the Final Celebration. Click the Sticker Set button to open a list of available Celebration Sticker sets. You can add a custom description to each reaction.
- Click Start game or Save for later.
How to host Kahoot! Sparks
- Click Start game after creating a creative challenge or Start a premade challenge.
- Ask your students to go to sparks.kahoot.it and enter the PIN displayed on the host’s screen.
Alternatively, they can scan the QR code with their mobile devices. It will redirect them to the browser and open your game session.
☝️ Currently, Kahoot! Sparks cannot be played in the Kahoot! mobile app or via https://.kahoot.it. - Click the gearwheel icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to access game settings.
☝️ You can lock your session here. It will prevent new players from joining your game. - Once everyone’s joined, click the Start button in the top right corner of the screen.
- The sparks will be displayed on the host’s and students’ screens. Players create answers using the editor on their devices. See: How to play Kahoot! Sparks
☝️ Students’ answers will be displayed without nicknames on the host’s screen. See: How to remove answers and players
☝️After everyone has submitted their answer, click Continue in the top right corner to proceed. - After the last spark, it’s time for the creative challenge.
Students get a random set of sparks created by everyone participating. Their task is to complete the creative challenge and create ideas inspired by the sparks they got.
☝️ Students' ideas will be displayed on the host’s screen without nicknames. See: How to remove answers and players - Once all the tasks are submitted, click the Celebrate button in the top right corner of the screen.
- Players will see one by one all the ideas created in this session on their screens. They can react to them with a set of preset stickers.
☝️ Suggest your students click the Show Inspirations button to see the sparks that inspired the idea they are celebrating.
☝️The host’s screen will display all the ideas and the stickers they got.
☝️ You can click the Show Cards button in the top right corner to show or hide all the ideas.
☝️ Click once on the idea card to hide or show it.
☝️ Click twice on the idea card to expand the view.
How to remove answers and players
The host can remove individual sparks, ideas, and players.
- Click on the spark or idea on the host’s overview screen.
- Click the red trash bin icon below the spark.
- Confirm that you want to remove this submission by clicking Remove content.
☝️ You can remove the player who added this spark by ticking the box next to Remove student from game.
☝️If you remove a player from the game, all of their submissions will be deleted.
☝️If you don’t remove the creator of the deleted spark, they can resubmit their answer. - To remove sparks at the Creative Challenge stage, click on the Show Inspirations button below the idea and click on the spark you need to remove.
How to download the report
- Click the Download button in the top right corner of the celebration screen.
- Check the Include student names option if you wish to see the players' nicknames in the report.
- Click Generate Report.
