BACKGROUND
There are two game modes to choose from when hosting a live kahoot. In particular, Team mode adjusts gameplay to accommodate groups of players sharing a device to answer.
One thing Team mode introduces is an opportunity for teams to discuss which answer to choose before it's time to respond. After the question has displayed for 5 seconds, there are 5 additional seconds of “team talk” time where the question and answers are displayed before the question timer starts. This gives teams time to discuss what the correct answer is.
PROBLEM
Some feel that 5 seconds is too short, or that it's not needed at all. It would be great if this timer could be manually adjusted or disabled.
KNOWN WORKAROUNDS
Currently, any known workarounds involve using Classic mode to avoid team talk or duplicating questions to offer more time to discuss. When duplicating questions, be sure to disable "award points" and set all answers as correct on questions the first time they appear. Though players will see what other groups responded with, they won't know which answer is correct.

Hi all! A little status update on this:
Team talk is an essential component to fostering collaboration in Team Mode when using one device per team. This is still the case today.
But since this surfaced 4 years ago, we now have a Team Mode version available where every participant uses their own personal device. In this mode, team talk can be toggled off. See here for more details.
I agree - the team talk time is too short and it would be wonderful if this could be adjusted on each question.
Team Team Talk feature should be able to be turned off. I really don't like this feature at all.
The team talk feature says it cannot be disabled in classic mode, but I am not in classic mode. I can not turn it off.
