Go back to how team mode used to work in Kahoot. Randomly assign students to teams instead of letting them choose. In the morning we played a kahoot where students were assigned to teams and it was perfect because students were with others they don't normally work with and students who don't usually win got a chance to win working with students at higher levels. The afternoon (after I upgraded my account) was a nightmare. Students only wanted to play with their friends, or once the "smartest in the class" signed on, students would leave a team and join their's. And when there were teams of friends they talked and were loud, disruptive and not engaged. I'm thinking of cancelling the "upgrade" subscription just so we can play in team mode like before.

Teachers should be able to select teams.
Yes, the teacher should be able to choose between random or teacher-determined. Random teams are often great -- especially for large classes. For small classes, one or two strong students can tip the balance tremendously though, and the teacher really needs to be able to create a level playing field for the experience to be enjoyable.
I agree, students should not be able to pick there team. I do not understand why. I can delete students from the teams then they choose the same team. Please fix.
I agree - students should either be placed in random teams AND there should be an option for teams to be created by teachers.
