With the highest-level plan MAX, you get custom teams, however you also lose the option for students to join a random team. This has caused issues in our classroom, and has made it so we can't use team mode anymore, unless we use an account that is on the lower payment plan.

I AGREE! Allowing students to "choose" their own team inadvertently alienates some students. PLEASE reinstate the "assign students to RANDOM teams option". Allow choice also becomes time consuming as it becomes necessary to balance teams.
Yes, It is so much easier if students get assigned at random. We have stopped using teams mode completely. This has made me regret upgrading my plan.
Why someone would disable this feature is crazy!! Random teams is NECESSARY in a classroom. Fix it!!
