I am a math teacher. I encourage students to take their time and check for accuracy. I love Kahoot, but my students often rush to answer the question just by guessing. I would love to be able to assign a “wait time” before they are even able to click an answer. I like the feature where I can choose that they do not get more points for quicker answers. (This helps a little:))

In the meantime you can try hosting kahoots in Lecture mode, which allows you to show the question on the screen and then go through the answers in your own pace. I agree with this. As a teacher, I have also noticed that when students know speed affects their score, some of them focus more on answering quickly than checking the question carefully. A short wait time could encourage students to read, think, and then answer more accurately. The option to separate accuracy from response speed would be especially useful for math and other concept-based subjects.
