White text on yellow background is impossible to read Completed

Hi all! I'm excited to share that there is now an "increase contrast" live game setting that will darken the background colors and make text much easier to see.

As before, there is also a "show questions & answers" game setting. Both settings should help when the presenting screen is faint/small, or if participants have any visual impairments.

  • I tis true.  It would be helpful to be able to change the background color and the text color

  • I was going to suggest the same thing. I show it on the smart board against a white screen and the Yellow option is so difficult to read.

  • I was in a deep classroom with some elderly people. The answer on the yellow button was impossible to read. Some suggestions: change the font color to black, or change the button color to black. In my case a larger font size would improve also the situation.

  • Is this possible to change the yellow background, and also enlarge the font size ???

Anybody can help me to solve the problem ?

  • Just had a discussion with colleagues about this today.  This makes Kahoot inaccessible for many people.  I may have to do a bit of research and see if there are any other options out there, as quite a few of the students I teach have difficulty with reading the white font and/or yellow background.

  • My students often tell me they struggle to read the white text on the yellow background.

Please fix this. For every instructor who takes the time to write you about a problem, there are many more who are experiencing it.

  • White text is too hard for some students to read. It would be great if we could adapt font size and colour so that it is easier for everyone to read.  If we use Kahoot in the classroom it needs to be universal design so that all students can participate.  Kahoots are a fun way to learn, but if even one student is missing out it is a problem. Thank you.

  • We conducted a group quiz just recently and had exactly the same problem, with the white font almost impossible to read at a distance. I cannot believe that the company has had 7 identical complaints/comments in the past 6 months and not bothered to reply or address what is clearly a major problem

  • I have just done a kahoot this morning with a year 7 class - they loved it, but as above many struggled to read the white text particularly on the yellow background.  I have students who struggle with text on the page, even with overlays, and they should have exactly the same access to something like this which enhances their learning.  It really doesn't seem hard to fix so please can something be done?

  • Just an option for black text or white would be helpful. Size would be nice but the black text would likely solve my struggles

  • It's been 8 months since I created a support ticket on this problem and been told it's been sent to the developers. Surely it's a simple fix?

  • I just signed up for Kahoot for my classroom and did my first Kahoot and we encountered the same issue. I had to read aloud the yellow response for every question and it was pretty frustrating...

  • Thank you for addressing this. As the saying goes, better late than never. Just the other day, students were asking me to read out the yellow answer field again, as they were struggling to see it. I am sure the new contrast setting will be a big help.
