I am freaking out over the recent elimination of the option to turn points on and off in quizzes. I know I can create my own surveys from scratch, but that doesn't allow me to take advantage of the incredible database of already created quizzes that I used to modify for my special education students. PLEASE, PLEASE. PLEASE turn this feature back on before September!
PLEASE reinstate option to toggle off points Completed

Hi all!
The next time you add or edit any question that awards points, look for this nifty toggle:
Not only can you now toggle points off, but you can also toggle double points. Our help article about how points work will soon be updated with more details. But here are some key things to know:
I agree! I always used this option on my previous quizzes (for children with special needs). So please turn this feature back...
I agree as well ! It was the plus of Kahoot to let us choose if we wanted to award each question or not. Please, reinstate this feature ...
Agreed!!! I always used it as question #1 as a sort of "practice" or warm up without any "pressure". Please allow this option again. There is a "poll" question you can now create but the poll question does not have an actual answer... just four options with no actual correct one. You have weakened your product with this change.
Yes, please bring back the option to have one or two warm-up questions that award no points. It really helps people understand the game when they've never used Kahoot before.
Thank you!
Agreed!!! I have agreed already but each time I ask for this to be fixed I am asked to post again. I have posted now three or four times on different threads.
Please give us back the product you "sold" us!! Taking away the options to do something weakens your product. Give us the option so those that want points for everything can have it and those who want only some to have points can have that and those that want NO points at all can have that!!! Everyone is happy.
The decision to edit your program to make it restrictive is confusing. Give us back the option for zero points AND the ability to disable the answer streak bonus (which you have also taken away).
I also miss the option to have no points awarded. With my ESL students, I always have a few "sample" questions in the beginning so they can get used to how it works before they compete. Please reconsider.
Can this be switched now please? We started school last week and even the students are pointing out the difference. Otherwise, I want my money back.
Why on Earth would you take a useful feature off and make your platform worse? Not everyone knows how to play your quiz. In fact every time I run the quiz with new set of attendees they're all new to your platform. Don't assume people won't need practice questions. Your platform is not as popular (yet) as you may romanticize it to be
I agree as well!!! I've always used this option for sample practice questions especially in ESL classes... Please turn this feature back...:(
I agree too! Kahoot probably took it away because they want us to pay for "Pro" to be able to use the feature "Polls".
I also use Kahoot mostly as a teacher and of course it would be awesome if my school would pay for subscriptions but... The reality is most schools don´t consider paying for something that could be used for free (with some features missing) a finacial priority...
So, PLEASE KAHOOT!!!
Don´t be greedy - please find other ways to make money instead of bleeding us teachers dry... Because we will find new free software to use instead.
Agreed. We hope to be using this product with LD students, and would prefer not to have points involved for such classes.
Yes, please! This was a great feature!
Please bring back no point option! I try and make my Biology review Kahoots more fun by inserting "fun" pop culture questions throughout but don't want these to actually affect the outcome since they are not required material.
As a teacher, I use the no points feature to NOT embarrass students while surveying their background knowledge. The Poll feature works if I want to ask open questions but not when checking background knowledge. I would really appreciate the toggle feature being put back in effect. PLEASE
Kahoot...... ARE YOU LISTENING????? You have this page to hear your users voice and yet there is nothing done. Please give us the options back
That’s not going to happen. Most of the people turn of point to do a survey or poll. No one would upgrade to premium if they could still do that, so they are forcing you to upgrade.
That's exactly the point I'm complaining about. I DID upgrade and that still doesn't allow the option to toggle the points on and off. So, actually, I paid money to have FEWER options than I had when it was free.
Not having the no point option is going to complicate my adult learning topics. I cant establish a baseline without embarrassing my newer students.
When Kahoot had the old version, it was great. I paid for a better version and it is now terrible!! It is funny how when you start an OLD Kahoot you are told "You have been selected to try the new version, you can switch to the old one if you wish"
CHOSEN????
NO I was NOT!! EVERYONE is forced to that page. The fact that with ONE click of a button you can switch to the old version means it is still there.... they just won't let us access it with new material we create or edit.
REALLY disappointed in the changes.
PLEASE reinstate the options to toggle points on or off and to disable the answer streak.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reinstate the toggle off points switch. I created my quizzes so that students would have to work together to solve the math problem and recieve no points during the first question. Then I would duplicate the question with the points and correct answer. This really worked with my students for collaboration before being in a hurry to just press an answer!!! PLEASE HURRY!!!!
PLEASE reinstate the toggle off points switch! This is just awful! I can't use this app with my ESL students either.
I agree. Even if it's just an option for two questions per Kahoot (still a downgrade from before) it would still get in those warmup/ explanatory questions that are so important for the start of the year. I just made every answer correct for my example questions because of this, which doesn't do nearly as well a job.
Yes i agree with whatever others said, plus i used to use this option for warm up and make the participants familiar with the game. i used to give 3-5 questions with no points, so everybody learned how the game 's working before we enter to the real competition
Hi! I see you have removed the opportunity to not award points when hosting a Kahoot. I work as a teacher, and have loved using Kahoot in the past, both as a educational tool and as sort of tests. But, by not having the opportunity to remove points, it will be quite difficult to use it with the kids. I don't want this to be a contest between the kids, and points will "fuel" the competition. Sometimes it's good to have that opportunity, sometimes not. I'll sincerly hope you'll change this back. Otherwise, A GREAT educational tool!
I work in a community college and always have a handful of students for whom English is not their first language. Those these students do remarkably well - I have found that following directions is a special challenge - especially verbal directions. I always have a couple no point practice questions at the beginning of a kahoot so students can get accustomed to the displays, processes etc without penalty. How defeating for a student to lose points at the beginning of a game because they didn't understand the directions. What will motivate them to "stay in the game" if there is NO way to catch up and compete.
This is seriously one, that I Can't figure out why they even though it was a good idea to turn off this feature.
Taking away choices like this is rarely a good thing.
I have many students who are struggling and I do not want to stop using Kahoot all together, but this option is DEFINITELY NEEDED!!! PLEASE HELP!!! As a teacher, I use the no points feature to PREVENT embarrassment to students while checking their understanding of content.
Please have the option to not have the points! I teach young children, and a lot of them LOVE using Kahoot, but get so frustrated when they weren't as fast as their peers, even though they get the correct answer. It causes them to shut down, because "there's no point to even trying". PLEASE make it an option again!
I agree that this option to turn off points should DEFINITELY be put back in. My students get very competitive and some students who take longer to answer or are struggling in a subject will completely lose confidence when they see their low ranking. Please consider the feedback everyone here is sharing.
