Hi there! It's now possible to mute or adjust volume of music/sound during a live kahoot. The options can be found in the top-right of the screen while hosting. You can learn more about this here.

  • Agreed.  When you're running a Kahoot in a Zoom call, the music is very loud.  The only option is to turn it off completely. The music and SFX are fun but overpower any conversation.  It would be ideal to be able to turn the volume down (the host can give instruction, people can talk, etc.)

  • How did you turn the volume off in Kahoot using Zoom? I can turn the volume on my computer down, but not sure that decreases the volume for students who need to hear me as I teach / preview a Kahoot.

  • Agreed. Used with Zoom and people were getting frustrated because they couldn't hear each other with the music or because they had their volume down because of the music. I tried using the mute tab trick but it was more of a hassle than anything. There should be an option to not have music or to just even adjust the volume so it's not so loud.

  • Agreed - can we please have a volume button? I love the music - but usually end up not using it during online/webinars because its as loud as my voice - and people can't hear me clearly.

  • Volume is really needed! I can't turn the sound off via the browser otherwise my questions that have video youtube links won't have volume

  • Been doing distance learning for a month now and I really wish there was a solution to this problem!!! The music is too loud and my students can barely hear me talk.

  • Idem, volume control needed for the same reasons.

  • I thought it was just me not knowing how to change the volume - The volume is way too loud over me trying to read questions out and explain things to my students.

  • I'm having the opposite problem; I cannot hear the music, although I have chosen a music theme and the sound it is not muted... any ideas from anyone? :)

  • It really concerns me that I pay for this service and no Kahoot! representative has responded to this thread in 2 months. Same issue. Music is not only impossible to work with, but prevents me from accommodating those with disabilities in my Kahoots.

  • Get a refund.
It took a month of back and forth emails, but I finally got them to give me a partial refund. I have this issue, plus the one where you can't see the questions on your own device. They tried to tell me to have my students (who are low tech people on small cell phones mostly) to keep both zoom and kahoot open in a split screen. Seriously?

  • Agree with all the above--master volume control is a must for online use! Any chance this can be implemented before my workshop in 10 minutes??  LOL

  • Where can you turn off the lobby music?  I can't find it either in "preview" or "teach.
