It would be great if a teacher could extend the time on an assigned Kahoot after it has closed without having to start a new one. I know that I can open it again, but it generates a new link and a new game. Since I use Google Classroom, I would have to go back and change the link on the Google Classroom for any kids who want to with complete the Kahoot if they did not already or do it again for more practice. If the Kahoot could just be extended with the same link, that would be great. I can do this with Blooket, but would love to do it with Kahoot.

Hi there!
Thank you for your suggestion regarding the ability to extend the time on an assigned Kahoot without generating a new link. Currently, it is not possible to extend the time for an assigned kahoot after it has closed without creating a new assignment, which generates a new link. This means that if you need to extend the time, you would have to start a new assignment and share the new link with your students.
However, I understand the inconvenience this might cause. Your feedback is valuable, and I will pass it on to our development team for consideration. In the meantime, you can create a new assignment of the same kahoot and then combine the reports afterwards to have all students’ results in one report.
Additionally, I would like to inform you about the “Recurring Challenge” feature available in Kahoot!+ Gold for K-12 teachers plan and other higher tier plans for schools (also available in other segments depending on a plan). This features is designed to handle large numbers of participants by automatically creating a new instance of an assignment with the same PIN, QR, and URL once the player limit is reached. This ensures that more players can join without being blocked by the player cap. Each new instance of the challenge will have its own report, so if you need a consolidated report, you would have to manually combine the reports from each instance. This feature is particularly useful for large-scale events or organizations expecting high traffic, as it allows continuous participation without interruption.
If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Can someone please update this feature? I really dislike that we cannot easily extend our original assignments while still using the same link. I also post my Kahoot assignments on Google Classroom, and having to change links for the same assignment is a hassle. This should be a simple feature to implement. Why can’t Kahoot understand how important this extension feature is? Please help us teachers out.
Thank you!
Hello, Thank you very much for your feedback. Unfortunately, this feature isn't currently available. We're constantly working on improving our product thus we value greatly our users' feedback regarding Kahoot!. There's nothing more motivating for us than hearing your ideas.
