  • This is absurd that Kahoot has not updated their platform to include the answers and questions.

  • How is it that this has been a question now FOR A YEAR and still hasn’t been addressed? 🤦🏾‍♀️ Not even a “we are working on it” to appear to be addressing what is clearly a huge issue for MANY! And with a flurry of new traffic on this thread, you’d think someone would be fixing this or at least providing information as to why there has not been even a whisper of a response.

If it’s not possible, too difficult, too whatever....then say so. Otherwise it doesn’t look good for you all. While this may have been a minor, back-burner concern before, it’s a sure bet that it’s now way past time for a response. Move it to the front.

There is no point to a forum like this if you don’t support your customers who clearly want to use your product and are willing to go this far to make it work for them. Step it up, Kahoot. The moment is now. Well, actually it was about a year ago. Thanks in advance for doing your job.

  • I am in agreement with all above statements.  Here in New Zealand we have been in lockdown since late March and still have at least 3 more weeks before we may go down to level 2.  Only my students with laptops/chromebooks can split screen.  Those using phones or tablets struggle. But I have found temporary solutions until Kahoot add this feature.

IPADS -  Have them exit zoom (or other screen sharing sites), log into the Kahoot you are sharing. Then go back to zoom. On the iPad, softly swipe up from the bottom of the screen while in the zoom app and then select Chrome from the dock and hold and drag to the right or left of the screen.

ANDROID - I used Samsung Galaxy phone.  I followed the same processes as before. Then pressed the 3 bars which allows you to go to opened apps.  Held down the chrome icon and selected 'Allow split screen'. Then selected zoom and they both opened one on top of the other.

  • I agree with everyone. Please add the question and answers to player screens. Hosting online is incredibly difficult because not everyone has a mobile phone or can use split screens.

  • questions and possible answers on the answers screen is more convenient but it makes it a solitary exercise.

If you are now in lock down how are you talking to the kids. Most apps allow you to share your (the teachers) screen or just read it to them and allow longer for the questions ( I know this last suggestion is bad)

  • It isn't just a matter of convenience, it's a matter of accessibility - the addition of player screens displaying the Q and A's is a necessary adaptation of Kahoot to our current remote teaching and learning situation.

  • It is very unthinkable that the developers built such a great platform but forgot/chose not to put such a simple feature.

And with all these complaints and inquiries you'd imagine that they would respond and update promptly.

Kahoot technical team are you reading this ????????

  • I followed Mr. McDonald Room's directions above and I was able to get it to split.  I am looking forward to trying it.  I am doubtful I will be able to walk my parents/students through it though.  Plus, I am not sure how to do it on an iPhone.  I guess that is what I am going to look up next!  I really hope that Kahoot is able to add this feature soon as there is already the possibility we may not return in the fall or need to leave again.

  • I completely concur with what has been expressed from other users.  This needs to be a key piece of functionality to accommodate users with only one device.  While I understand the Kahoot support site says "it was overwhelmingly clear to us that engagement and learning were diminished when students were fixated on their own devices," I think it is time to pivot and rethink the learning experience today in 2020 and the impact of not having core functionality like this.

  • Completely agree with all point above. I had upgraded my subscription and set all my questions. Imagine my disappoint when I discovered no one can actually read the questions on their devices. Makes it all useless I must say.

  • I find it quite patronizing for you to decide how this app would best be used in my class. I see how it would work in a regular classroom situation. However, in the current situation I'm teaching from home, and for grade 3s having to click back and forth between Kahoot and the screen that I share in Google Meet is silly. Every click is a possibility for me to 'loose' a student. At least give me the option to choose. Thank you.

  • I absolutely agree with all the comments about students not being able to see the question and answers on their single devices. I know Kahoot suggested that students split their screens...but it will be too difficult for my students and a pain to teach them how to do it virtually. Please fix this problem ASAP!!! My students want to play live with their classmates.

  • I can't believe this issue was brought up over a year ago and still hasn't been addressed. The 'helpful" article that popped up when I searched this issue was updated A DAY AGO, and it still says it is not going to happen. What the actually hell Kahoot? I hated that this was not an option before when I would do them live in my first grade classroom, because it's hard for them to see/read the question and answers on the board then choose the COLOR box that matches the correct answer. Yes, I understand that there is an assignment option (which I use), but I also like playing it live with my kids on Zoom. I did this for the first time last week, and it was a disaster. Ugh! Get your ish together Kahoot!!!!

  • Yes, please!

During Live Games in a video conference, players need two devices (Computer to see the shared screen with question and answer options; and phone/tablet etc. for answering), which is too complicated. The music during screen sharing is not audible either.

Why not show everything in one window with music if you login to a live game over kahoot.it ? Would be so much better.

    Thank you

  • This might be one of the stupidest decisions any company has made in the history of companies.  It's especially bad for distance learning.

  • Students need to see the questions and answers because the print is too small on the shared teacher's screen. It would take them 30 seconds to listen to the teachers read the questions and answers.

  • This system is not equitable to all students and families. The company quite simply doesn't care since they have literally been silent.

Does anyone have other recommendations that is similar to Kahoot to play virtually with my students?

  • Yes. Quizizz is perfect for this. Way better than Kahoot.

  • Does Quizizz provide the same type of reports?  The reports from Kahoot do provide valuable formative assessment information.  We have been playing split-screen while at home for live games and it has been extremely challenging trying to explain to parents. Thank you.

  • To add another voice to this. Yes! Please do this! If Jackbox/Quiplash can do this, why can't Kahoot?

  • I'm very disappointed about this, we are asking this feature since 6 month at least. Could you please give us an answer at least?

  • I agree that this is a vital feature that should be added. I will be using Quizizz until this feature is added.

  • What's happening Kahoot? You are letting everyone down with this issue. I will switch to quizlet and suggest others do also until Kahoot fixes the problem. It can't be hard. Questions and answers on screen.
