I use Kahoot to teach Japanese ESL. It's very useful for drilling letter names and sounds. Japanese keyboards replace the qwerty keyboard tilde key with a button to switch between inputting Japanese and Alphanumeric input.
When entering a pin, ”JA Alphanumeric with Japanese keyboard” mode looks like this:
1234 567
And ”あ Japanese” mode looks like this:
1234567
Japanese computers default to Japanese mode, but the game pin dialogue does not accept these wider numbers. Showing students how to switch input modes causes a significant delay in younger classes, and bugs preventing Alphanumeric input entirely are not uncommon.
Could the pin dialogue be edited to accept the wider numbers?

Hi! I've passed your request directly to our product team.
Your explanation about the wide characters (123) was clear and helpful; thank you! Hopefully, we can get this normalized soon to make joining games a bit smoother for your classes.
In the meantime, to avoid the PIN entry entirely, you can have your students scan the join QR code or send them a direct link to the game.
