Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to seamlessly access Kahoot! using an existing account. To ensure a smooth login experience, it is important to understand the two different types of SSO supported by Kahoot!: Social Provider SSO and Enterprise SSO.

What are the different types of SSO on Kahoot!?

Social Provider SSO

Users who have a private or company account with Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Clever can use Social Provider SSO.

  • You can log in using these services immediately without any additional configuration required from you or your organization.
  • On the login page, simply click on the Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Clever button located at the top.

Enterprise SSO

Enterprise SSO is an advanced feature that allows organizations to keep central control over authentication and security using their own identity providers (which can also be Google, Microsoft, or others).

  • This method requires additional setup by your organization's IT admin and is only available for organizations that have this feature included in their plan.
  • Important: Users utilizing Enterprise SSO will not click the individual social buttons. Instead, they must click Continue with Single Sign-on on the login screen.

  1. Do I need SSO to use Kahoot!?
    No. You can always use a regular Kahoot! account with an email/username and password. However, if you have a private Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Clever account, you can also use that to log in via Social Provider SSO. Enterprise SSO is an optional authentication method many organizations choose for easier and more secure access management.
     
  2. How do I get SAML or OpenID Connect SSO for my organization?
    SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect (Enterprise SSO) are available for qualifying organizational plans. Please contact Kahoot! Sales to confirm availability and get setup guidance.
     
  3. I use social SSO (Google/Microsoft/Apple/Clever). How can I switch to logging in with email and password?
    You simply need to reset your password. Once you have reset it, both login methods (social SSO and email/password) will work for your account going forward.
