I recently went on the Kahoot app and I’ve noticed the monkey character got removed, can we have an option to have the monkey character back? I heard at the spring EDU meetup that the monkey character is a popular character.

Hello!
Thank you for expressing your fondness for the monkey character. While we understand your attachment to it, our decision to remove the character was based on various factors to enhance the overall user experience. We appreciate your feedback and will consider it for future updates.
If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to us via our contact form. If you are a child account holder, please have a teacher, parent, or legal guardian contact us on your behalf for help.
Them removing it is even more racist 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
We need to bring the monkey back, without the monkey, Kahoot is nothing. After the monkey left Kahoot my life went into a downward spiral. I lost custody of the kids, my wife left me, I am in debt to the bank. It is all because the monkey left me, it is all because Kahoot took the monkey away from me. In a few months I will lose my house to the bank, and I will have nothing, all because they removed the monkey. This experience truly shows us the dark side that Kahoot has.
everyone in class is depressed because they cant have monkey gang anymore
my life has no meaning without monkey. bring monkey back.
After they took senior Monkey Boy away, I've had to resort to fwog man. All the people I've ever known have sorted into different discriminationistic groups. Tking away the monkey has created an unequal balance of fwogs, dogs, and pigs. I need the monkey back. I don't think we can last much longer.
im depresed if you dont bring back the kahoot monkey i will NEVER be able to see my kids again
I recently joined the anti-racism group to bring the monkey back
I am a monkey. I was thrilled when Kahoot included a monkey avatar. However, recently Kahoot decided to remove this beloved character from their platform.
This decision has not only affected me personally but also raises concerns about racial bias. Monkeys are significant symbols in many cultures around the world(mostly black people), and their removal can be seen as an act of cultural insensitivity. The United Nations' Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) emphasizes respect for the customs, traditions and symbols that are important to different cultures(like black people).
By removing the monkey avatar without providing a clear reason or alternative representation for those who identify with it, Kahoot is inadvertently promoting racial bias by excluding certain cultural symbols from its platform.
We need your support to show that diversity matters in all aspects of life(especially Black People). We urge you to keep asking Kahoot to reinstate the monkey avatar for those who identify with it(like black people)
Wow, just wow. When i realized the monkey avatar was removed from this beloved game i was ENRAGED. As someone who identifies as part of the monkey community it really digs deep. People don't realize how hard it is to be a monkey, recently the local KFC closed and now i have no where to eat, now the monkey is removed from kahoot, i really just can't win.
Currently i have multiple verbal and physical accusations against me and being the kahoot monkey is the only thing that can bring me peace and joy. I know many others like me have strong feelings about the kahoot monkey and im just one of thousands. All i want is love and i cant have love without my precious kahoot monkey, or my KFC.
Please show some mercy to my monkey community.
Sincerely~ MonkeyPride263
Dear Kahoot Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible platform that Kahoot provides for interactive learning and engagement in educational settings. The recent updates and improvements have undoubtedly contributed to the positive experience of users across the globe.
However, I would like to bring to your attention a matter that has deeply resonated with me and several members of the Kahoot community—the removal of the monkey avatar. As someone who appreciates the inclusive nature of Kahoot and values the diversity it offers, I believe that the removal of the monkey avatar has unintentionally resulted in a sense of exclusion for individuals like myself who deeply identify with and appreciate the representation it provided.
The monkey avatar, with its playful and endearing characteristics, allowed users to express themselves in a unique and light-hearted manner. It catered to a diverse range of individuals, including those who found a personal connection to the monkey as a symbol. Unfortunately, its absence has left a void for those of us who, as monkey sympathizers, feel a bit disheartened by the removal of this cherished feature.
I understand that changes are made with the best intentions, and I appreciate the ongoing efforts to enhance the user experience. However, I would like to request a reconsideration of the decision to remove the monkey avatar. Its reinstatement would not only bring joy to those who found solace in its representation but also contribute to fostering a more inclusive and welcoming environment on the platform.
As a monkey sympathizer, I genuinely believe that the reintroduction of the monkey avatar aligns with Kahoot's commitment to diversity and inclusivity. I am confident that this adjustment will be received with enthusiasm by many users who, like myself, hold a sentimental attachment to this beloved avatar.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this request. Your dedication to creating a positive and inclusive space for learners is truly commendable, and I believe that the return of the monkey avatar would be a step in the right direction.
Warm regards,
monkeysympathizer123
Bring back the monkey, I am in deep sorrow for the loss. I miss the monkey and so do my peers, the Monkey Gang. Everyday we'd all choose the monkey character as a sign of our brotherhood and camaraderie but now we have nothing. And no, we can't just pick another character. The monkey was OURS to share and now we are left with nothing. Kahoot, as a user of yours for years, I have never asked for anything. But today, I BEG you to return the monkey. I realized our loss of the monkey a bit ago, before this post was made. I searched for many answers, and now that i have received a statement, I will speak for all. Thank you, Kahoot. Thank you...
Ladies and gentlemen, students and educators, today I stand before you with a heavy heart to address a matter that has deeply affected our virtual learning community. The recent decision to remove the beloved monkey avatar from Kahoot has left many of us feeling a sense of loss and nostalgia.
For years, that cheerful, mischievous monkey has been more than just a virtual representation on our screens. It became a symbol of camaraderie, friendly competition, and the joy that learning can bring. Its animated presence added a touch of lightheartedness to our educational endeavors, making Kahoot not just a platform for quizzes but a source of fond memories.
As we bid farewell to the monkey avatar, let us take a moment to reflect on the countless times it brought smiles to our faces, lightening the load of academic challenges. Whether we were racing against the clock to answer questions or playfully competing with friends, the monkey was always there, a constant companion in our learning journey.
The decision to remove the monkey avatar may seem like a small change, but its impact on the emotional connection we shared with Kahoot is significant. In a world where virtual interactions have become more prevalent, these seemingly trivial elements play a crucial role in fostering a sense of community and familiarity.
We understand that changes are inevitable, and platforms evolve over time. However, it's essential for us to acknowledge and express the emotional attachment we have developed with the monkey avatar. It represented more than just an animated character; it embodied the spirit of learning with joy, curiosity, and a sense of togetherness.
As we adapt to this change, let us remember the positive moments the monkey brought into our lives. Let us carry forward the enthusiasm for learning that it symbolized. And, most importantly, let us continue to embrace the evolving landscape of education with open hearts, knowing that even as avatars change, the spirit of learning and connection remains strong.
Thank you, and may our educational journey be filled with new adventures and discoveries, even in the absence of our beloved monkey friend.
As a member of the Monkey community, the removal of the Monkey avatar from Kahoot has not only left a void in the platform but has also sparked a sense of offense and disconnect. The Monkey avatar, being more than just a virtual character, holds cultural significance for many within the Black/Brown community, including myself. Its disappearance feels like a dismissal of the cultural identity that the Monkey represents, and as a result, it's more than just a nostalgic longing for its return – it's a genuine feeling of offense.
Symbols matter, and the Monkey avatar wasn't just a playful addition for me; it was a recognition of a cultural identity that is often overlooked. Seeing the Monkey on Kahoot was a source of pride and connection to a broader cultural narrative. Its removal sends a message that the platform may not fully grasp the cultural nuances and significance attached to such symbols, leading to a sense of alienation for those who found resonance in the Monkey avatar.
The offense is not merely about the absence of a virtual character; it's about the neglect of cultural representation and the platform's failure to consider the impact of such decisions on diverse user groups. The Monkey avatar was a small yet meaningful acknowledgment of the Monkey community within the larger user base. Its removal, without apparent consideration for the sentiments of users like me, is disheartening and raises questions about the platform's commitment to inclusivity.
Kahoot has the opportunity to rectify this situation by bringing back the Monkey avatar and addressing the concerns of the Monkey community. It's not just about restoring a character; it's about recognizing the cultural importance and value that the Monkey holds for many users. By doing so, Kahoot can bridge the gap that has been created and demonstrate a genuine commitment to understanding and respecting the diverse identities of its user base.
In the broader context of digital platforms, this serves as a reminder that decisions impacting cultural representation should be approached with sensitivity and awareness. The Monkey avatar is not just a whimsical addition for the Monkey community; it's a representation of cultural pride, and its absence has left a palpable sense of offense. Let's hope Kahoot listens to the voices of the Monkey community and reinstates the Monkey avatar, fostering a renewed sense of connection and inclusivity for all users.
