I love using the nickname feature to allow student privacy in game-play. (We play in a Zoom session, so students don't necessarily know who is who.) However, I have a few students who tend to opt-out. With nicknames, it is hard to tell who is sitting out the exercise.
It would be nice to have a way to require students enter their real name and still play under a nickname. If the real name appeared in the session report, that's fine. I don't even need to know scores -- just their participation record is enough. (Note: I don't think authenticated names are necessary. It would be on the student to enter their name correctly.)

Hi jrossman! What you described is our player identifier feature. Because this stores identifiable information about students within your game reports, having access to this feature should involve approval from your school/district administration. Ideally, we would want them to set up an EDU shared workspace so that they can manage who within the school/district is authorized to collect these identifiers from players. They can then invite you and others to link your accounts with their workspace, offering access to a ton more than just player identifiers.
