Instead of just being able to kick inappropriate names out I would like an option where student either cannot put in nicknames or are forced to use their google account name so that I do not have to constantly monitor what my Middle School students are typing in.

Hi all! I see that folks agree on using Google accounts to join live games and assignments. This isn't yet possible, but definitely noted! As for now, we do have a nickname generator that can be enabled.
We also have a Player Identifier feature that can add email verification (magic link) as a layer of security. For teachers, please ask your school or district tech administrator to contact us to discuss EDU options to enable this.
Amen!
Once the initial list of names are created and the game begins, no changes should be allowed. Its easy to cross check and make sure the initial names are appropriate. But once the game begins, the ability to delete or add should only be allowed by the creator (in my case the teacher). There is too much time wasted and disruption caused because students have the ability to change, delete, or add names once the game begins. Today I had to cancel the kahoot assessment for that very reason.
Its a great assessment tool, but even with rules and expectations set up front, if students have the ability to mess with it there will be some who will. Its unfortunate, because like some other teachers, I may have to remove kahoot from my repertoire of assessment tools because it is becoming more of a headache than a help.
I often play the same kahoot, to review content and get students to learn info for exams. I would like to be able to track student progress ( formative assessment), Can we have an option that forces them to use a google account name for their login. I could then track individual student progress.
Has anyone received information on a way to monitor names in Kahoot? I wish it would just use Google usernames.
I second the use of google names in Kahoot.
Unfortunately students are highly inappropriate with the anonymity
Something needs to change before I use Kahoot again.
Agreed! Please use Google account names.
