How to download a kahoot and play offline in the mobile app
You can download kahoots in the Kahoot! mobile app and play them offline – perfect for studying in airplane mode, when you don't have Wi-Fi, or when your internet connection is unstable.
Once downloaded, you can use self-study modes (Flashcards, Learn, Test) or play in Classic solo mode without needing a live host or internet connection.

How to download a kahoot
- Open in the Kahoot! mobile app.
- Go to Your Library ot open a kahoot from the Discover page.
- On the kahoot details page, tap three vertical dots (⋮).
- Select Download on this device.
☝️ If the kahoot includes videos, you’ll see a message saying: “Videos aren’t supported. Do you want to download it for offline play?” → Tap Download now to continue.
📌 Embedded videos are not playable offline, but you can still use all question-and-answer content in any offline-compatible mode.
Where to find downloaded content
- Open the Kahoot! mobile app.
- Go to Library → Kahoots → Downloads.
- Tap any kahoot to open it offline.
How to play and study kahoot offline
Once kahoot is downloaded, open it from the Downloads section in your Library. You can choose from the following offline modes:
Self-study modes (great for learning and practice)
- Flashcards – memorize key facts and definitions
- Learn – practice without timers and reinforce understanding
- Test – simulate real exam conditions (answers shown at the end)

Offline progress sync
- Your offline study progress is saved directly on your device.
- When you reconnect to the internet, open the app and refresh — progress syncs automatically.
- If you leave a downloaded kahoot mid-session, you can resume it anytime from the: Home → Active tab
This lets you continue right where you left off — even if you were offline.
