Motimate: How can users set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for their accounts?
A great way to ensure that your data is safe, is to make use of Multi-Factor Authentication, and we highly recommend all users in Motimate make use of this. This article explains how you easily can set it up for your account 🔐
First you need to download an Authenticator app to your mobile. We recommend the apps Google Authenticator or Authy.
Setting up MFA for users on the Motimate App:
- Go to the Motimate App and type in your email and password and click Log in. You will now be asked to set up MFA for your account.
- Copy the code that appears.
- Go to the Authenticator app, and click the + sign. Choose Enter in setup key.
- Write the name of the organization you belong to in the Account field, and the code you copied in the Motimate App in the Key field. Press Add.
- Now your authenticator code will appear in the app. Copy the six digit code that appears and paste it in the Motimate App.
- In this final step you will get Recovery codes that you need to save in a secure place. These can be used if you lose access to your smartphone and/or the authenticator app. After you have saved the codes, check the box and press Confirm.
Congratulations! You have now set up MFA for your Motimate account and can log in safely.
Setting up MFA for users on Web:
- Go to https://motimate.app/signin and type in your email and password and click Log in. You will now be asked to set up MFA for your account.
- Go to the Authenticator app and tap the + sign. Choose Scan QR code.
- Now your authenticator code will appear in the app. Copy the six digit code that appears and paste it on the Motimate web page.
- In this final step you will get Recovery codes that you need to save in a secure place. These can be used if you lose access to your smartphone and/or the authenticator app. After you have saved the codes, check the box and press Confirm.
Congratulations! You have now set up MFA for your Motimate account and can log in safely.
