How to integrate Schoology LMS with Kahoot! LTI

Step 1: Start LTI configuration from the Organization space in Kahoot!

1. Go to your team workspace via the left-side panel on our platform.

2. Click the avatar icon in the top right corner of the screen and go to Settings.
   

3. In the team settings menu on the left, select the Integrations tab to view available integration options.

4. Select the Create LTI configuration button under the LTI Management section to proceed with the setup.
   

5. Click Create manual.
   

6. Add a title, click Continue.
   

7. Leave this page open - you’ll copy details later.
   

Step 2: Create an App in Schoology

1. Go to https://schoology.schoology.com/apps/publisher. Click Add App.
   
2. Fill the first part of the form as needed.
   
    

3. In the configuration section, paste the links from your Kahoot! LTI config:

   Tool Domain/URL: https://lti.kahoot.com/

   Login URL: https://lti.kahoot.com/api/login/init

   Redirect/Target Link URI: https://lti.kahoot.com/api/message

   JWKS/Keyset URL: https://lti.kahoot.com/.well-known/jwks.json
   

4. The app was created, click Install LTI 1.3 App button.
   
   
   

5. Choose who should be able to use the new app
   

6. Install the app to the selected location.
   

7. Click Configure → copy the Client ID and Deployment ID (Client ID = part before “-”).
   

8. Optionally go back to Install/Remove to manage availability.
   
   

Step 3: Finish the LTI configuration in Kahoot!

1. Back in Kahoot!, enter the Client ID and Deployment ID.

2. Choose Schoology present from the dropdown.

3. Remaining fields auto-fill → click Create.
   
   

Step 4: Test the integration

1. In Schoology, go to a course → click Add Materials. Select Kahoot! and add content.
   
   
   

2. Verify the content appears correctly in the course.
