Troubleshooting & FAQ
-
What is the maximum file size for uploading a video to kahoot? When uploading a video directly from your device, the maximum file size allowed is 200MB.
-
Can I upload an audio file (MP3) instead of a video?
Yes, but you should not upload it to the video block. Please use the specific Audio upload feature. Check out our guide on how to add audio to a kahoot.
-
Why can't I add a YouTube video to my kahoot? If the video is stuck loading or shows an error, your network might be restricting access to YouTube. This is common in schools. You will need to ask your IT administrator to whitelist the following domains: www.youtube.com, m.youtube.com, youtubei.googleapis.com, youtube.googleapis.com, and www.youtube-nocookie.com. Additionally, remember that YouTube videos are no longer supported for business and social accounts.
-
Why is my Kahoot! lobby video not playing automatically? Most modern web browsers have strict policies against auto-playing videos. If your lobby video does not start automatically, click anywhere on the video to trigger it. Afterward, you can use the play button in the top right corner of the screen to start or stop it.
- Can I add a Vimeo video to the Kahoot! lobby? No. Currently, only YouTube videos can be used as lobby background videos.

This page is very outdated. You cannot upload YouTube Videos and don't have the option to upload a video in itself (Only when you have a Kahoot! 360). Vimeo is out of the question, as you cannot share a private link either. Please update this page. The information is outdated, and all tutorial videos are now redundant.
