What is Study Path?

Study Path is a personalized learning path that Kahoot! AI builds from your study materials, such as lecture slides, PDFs or scanned notes. A learning path is a sequence of lessons in a set order, so you learn the basics before moving on. Instead of creating quizzes yourself or studying from disorganized materials, you get a structured self study plan split into modules and interactive kahoots.

With Study Path, you can:

  • Start from your course materials — upload one or more files, such as PDFs, PowerPoint presentations or lecture slides, or scan handwritten or printed notes with your device camera.

  • Get a step-by-step learning sequence — Kahoot! AI finds the core concepts in your material and organizes them into progressive modules.
  • Learn interactively — play AI-generated kahoots in solo Learn mode to build your understanding step by step.
  • Track your progress — see completed activities and the kahoots coming up in each module.

When to use Study Path

Study Path works best when you have a lot of content to learn, such as a whole course, several lectures or a long reading list. Add multiple files at once, and Study Path turns everything into one learning path.

How Study Path works

  1. Outline — when you add your files or scan notes, Kahoot! AI finds the key concepts and builds an outline of modules and activities.
  2. First kahoot right away — the first kahoot in your path is generated immediately, so you can start learning in seconds. The next activities are generated in the background while you play.
  3. Step-by-step progress — activities follow a set order that covers the core concepts before moving on to later modules.

How Study Path uses your notes and files

  • Processing your material — when you scan notes or upload a PDF, the text is extracted to find the main topics and concepts. 
  • Building your path — relevant extracted text is processed securely by Kahoot! AI in the cloud to create your outline and quiz questions.
  • Privacy — your material is used only to create your personal study path. It's not shared publicly or used to train public AI models.

Who can use Study Path

  • Plans — Study Path is an Early Access feature for individual learners with a Kahoot!+ Gold subscription or a higher personal or student plan, such as Kahoot!+ One. 
  • Free accounts — free accounts can't create study paths. You'll see an upgrade prompt when you open the feature.
  • Business accounts — Study Path is built for individual self-study and isn't available on Kahoot! 360 business plans. To create courses for your team, use Professional Study Paths (coming soon).
  • Devices — the Kahoot! app on iOS, iPadOS, Android and macOS. Study Path isn't available on the web yet.
  • Document limits — PDFs up to 150 pages (about 1,000,000 characters) per study path. Your material needs at least 200 characters and enough content for at least 3 core concepts.
