How to play solo

The Solo option allows you to play a kahoot by yourself and at your own pace.

1. Open the kahoot you want to practice in our mobile app or browser. You can find it in your Library or on the Discover page.
2. Click the Play solo option.
3. Select one of our solo game modes.

How to access the 'ways to play' screen in the mobile app

1. Open the Kahoot! app.
2. Tap the Let's go! or Play Solo button on your Home screen in Kahoot! app.
   ☝️ Business users currently can't access the Ways to play screen.
   
3. Choose one of the solo options.

Flashcards

You can practice with flashcards on the mobile app and the web platform.

• Click or tap Flip card to see the answer.
• Click or tap Study again (mobile app) or swipe left (web platform) to return to this card later in the session.
• Click or tap Got it (mobile app) or swipe right (web platform) if the information on the card is clear and there's no need to practice it again.

Practice

High-engagement learning format inspired by social media platforms. You can access this mode on both our web platform and mobile app.

• Swipe or Tap: answer the questions and progress through the study material by swiping left or right, or tapping on the screen, just like on social media.

Chill art solo mode

1. Pick one of the numbers from the board to randomly select a painting.

2. Answer questions correctly to collect paintbrushes.
   
   

3. You can go paint once paintbrushes are available by clicking Go paint in the top right corner of the screen.

4. To paint, select a number at the bottom of the screen and match it on the canvas.
   
   

5. The matched pieces unveil part of the masterpiece.

6. You can go back to answering questions by clicking the Go to quiz button in the top left corner of your screen.

7. The game continues until the painting is finished or you click Exit game.
   

8. Once you finish a painting, click the Gallery button in the top left corner to randomly select a new painting and practice the same game again.
   

Treasure trove solo mode

1. Answer the required number of questions correctly. You can see your progress in the bottom right corner of the screen.
   
2. Once you've collected the required number of correct answers, it's time to catch the treasure. Click on the flying treasures to collect them and gain points.
   ☝️ Avoid collecting rubbish. Clicking on rubbish results in extracting your points.
   ☝️ You have a limited time to collect the treasure. You can see the timer at the top of the screen.
   
3. After collecting the treasure, you go to the next round to answer more questions. The difficult questions that were answered incorrectly will reappear to help you learn.

Tallest tower solo mode

1. Answer the required number of questions correctly. You can see your progress in the bottom right corner of the screen.
   
2. Once you've collected the required number of correct answers, it's time to build the tower. Click or tap on the screen to drop a building block.
   ☝️ To complete a floor and gain points you need to place all the blocks in a row. Growing a tower without completing floors does not grant you points.
   ☝️ During the game the gorilla will show up with a power-up. Read and follow the instructions on the screen.
   
3. After building the tower, you go to the next round to answer more questions. The difficult questions that were answered incorrectly will reappear to help you learn.
   ☝️ The highest score you achieve during the game is saved. You can play again and beat your previous score.

Classic solo mode

1. You'll be taken to the lobby of a game with automatically generated players.
   
   
2. Insert your nickname.
3. Click Ok, go! to start.
4. Answer the questions as if it were a regular live game.

DragonBox solo modes (Kahoot! app only)

1. Tap the Let's go! or Play Solo button on your Home screen in Kahoot! app.
   ☝️ Business users currently don't have access to the Ways to play screen and DragonBox games in Kahoot! app.
2. Select one of the options in the Learn math with games by DragonBox section.

Kahoot! solo mode: Pop-Pop Multiplications

1. Select the playlist.
   ☝️The first three playlists are available for free. To gain access to the rest of the playlists, you need to upgrade.
2. At the top of the screen, you'll see the character and the objective or formula you need to demonstrate in the play zone.
3. Tap on the same character at the bottom of your screen and drag it to the play zone.
4. Tap and drag to arrange the objects. The arrangement of characters and items needs to match the level's objective displayed at the top of the screen.

Kahoot! solo mode: Duck-Duck Fractions

1. Select the playlist.
   ☝️The first three playlists are available for free. To gain access to the rest of the playlists, you need to upgrade.

2. Help Duck Duck to reach his rocket by indicating how many points on the scale are between the Duck Duck and the rocket.

3. Drag the correct cards with formula elements to empty slots.

4. Click the Play button.

5. Watch DuckDuck move along the line or circle

6. The goal is met when you correctly place all the Fraction Cards in Fraction Slots and DuckDuck’s Rocket launches.
