How to find Kahoot! PIN
A Kahoot! game PIN (sometimes called join code, session code or Kahoot! code) is a temporary number created when a host starts a live game or assigns one. How do I find a Kahoot! PIN step by step?
For a live game
- The host launches the kahoot as a live session → the lobby opens.
- A large PIN (6-10 digits) appears at the top of the lobby.
- The host. can say it aloud, paste it to chart (Zoom/Meet/Teams), or show it on a big screen.
- Participants go to kahoot.it or open the app and enter the PIN exactly as shown.
For an assigned game (challenge)
- The host assigns the kahoot (not live).
- Kahoot! auto-generates a PIN for that assignment.
- The host shares a direct link, QR code, or the PIN for manual entry.
- Participants open kahoot.it or the app and enter the PIN (or just tap the link/QR).
For solo play
- Learn mode and self-paced solo don't require a PIN - open the kahoot in your account/app and click Play solo.
Who can generate a Kahoot! PIN?
- Only the host. A PIN is created automatically when the host starts a live game or assigns a kahoot. Participants can't generate PINs.

Hi, I am having difficulty with the Pin question. I have tested my question twice. The pins show on the participants phone screen but not on my screen (I have the host). How do I correct this?

When you present your kahoot live, you can not see the pin on the screen you're presenting/hosting with - only the players that have joined your game.
Once they have finished the question, your hosting screen should show the correct area and all the pins the players have added individually.

Is there a way for participants to join a Kahoot once the Kahoot presentation is already started??
Is there a way to have a pin selected prior to starting the game? I would like to create QR code posters/printouts to the actual kahoot without having to have all participants type in the pin as some may not be able to see the screen at one of my larger events.
