Kahooot! creator channels: How to add a channel

1. Access your verified profile page. On the Home page of your private workspace and click Add content in the Verified profile section.
    
2. On the right side of the screen, you’ll find the Kahoot! creator channels section. Click Create channel to get started.
   
3. Here you can define all the elements of your channel.
   • Add channel title, description, avatar, and banner image.
     

💡 Add a clear and concise title, mentioning the main topic of your channel. For example: SEL for Middle school with Mr. James.

💡 Avoid brand references and vague terminology that may lead to confusion. Titles like “Mr. Studio Kahoot!” or “Kahoot!Land” are not allowed.
💡Users love to know the creator. Add a picture of yourself or an avatar that resembles you. Copyrighted characters are not allowed.
💡Create a brief description summarizing what your channel is about. You can include topics, grades, and the planned frequency of updates.
💡 You can choose a banner from our library or upload your own image.
💡 This image will be displayed at the top of your channel and on the Discover page as a channel card icon.
💡 The image should have a ratio of 6:1, the recommended dimension is 1280:256.

• Select a channel's theme by clicking the painting palette in the top right corner of the screen.
  
• Create a section with free resources that best represent you as a creator and encourage users to subscribe.
  
  💡Within the section with free resources, users can explore your teaching style and overall quality.
  💡 Share sample courses, offering a preview of your content.
  💡 Include a call to action encouraging them to access the complete versions by subscribing to your channel. Show them a part of the learning experience they will acquire when subscribing to your channel.
  💡Use only copyright-free resources, such as our image stock, YouTube, or Vimeo videos.

• Create a paid section.
  
  💡 Click the pencil icon to edit the title.
  

💡 Click the + icon to select content for the section.
💡You need to add at least 5 items in each section.
💡 To add more paid sections, click the Add new section button at the bottom of the screen.

4. Click on the gearwheel icon in the top right corner to edit the Channel settings.
   
   • In the Basic information section, define the Age range, Grade, and Language. It will help the right audience find your channel.
     💡 Custom channel URL should reflect the content of your channel. We recommend keeping it short, simple, and easy to remember.
   • In the Subscription settings section, you can add three reasons why your channel will bring value to the subscribers. This information will help other users understand what content they can expect from your channel and why should they subscribe.
     
5. In the top right corner, click Save to continue editing later. Click Publish if you’ve finished creating your channel.
   💡 You need to add all the necessary information to publish your channel. Check the creator guide to see which elements are missing by clicking the list icon in the top right corner.
   
6. After clicking Publish, you can preview your channel and choose the subscription price.
   • Select the tier that matches your channel and make sure to accept the Terms and Conditions.
     
7. Click Publish channel.

Will I have to wait for my channel to be approved?

No. You need to go through the approval process when you’re becoming a verified creator and when you submit content to Kahoot! marketplace thus the content you’re adding to the channel is already approved.

Is it possible to have more than one channel?

Yes, you can create as many channels as you wish. They can cover different topics, languages, and themes.

Can the same kahoot or course be added to different channels?

Yes, you can add the same content to multiple channels.

Can I add free content to a paid channel?

Yes, the top section is always showcasing your content for free.

Can I add or remove content from my channel?

Yes, you can add or remove content whenever you want. It is not recommended to remove much content from your channel, since there will be users who have subscribed to your page.

Can I delete my channel?

You can delete your channel before it’s published. If you need to delete an already published channel, contact our support team.

When does the payout happen?

Quarterly, around the 20th of the month, together with all the other Kahoot! marketplace payouts.

Are there any differences between the app and the web?

With the new share model, there won’t be any discrepancies between purchased content in the app and the web.
