The Allow guest hosting feature is designed to provide a seamless and quick entry into Kahoot!'s interactive learning experiences. If the creator has access and enables this feature, other users can host and assign their kahoots without needing to log in or create an account. Users can jump straight into hosting a kahoot, making it easier to engage with content.
The Allow guest hosting option is available with certain plans. Games created by users without access to the Allow guest hosting feature can be hosted and assigned only by logged-in users.
☝️ The player limit for anonymously hosted games in the classic mode is 2000. Specific player limits apply to other game modes.
☝️ Players can join all kahoots without logging in or creating an account. Joining kahoots as a player does not require logging in or creating an account. Only the ability to host and assign kahoots without logging in is limited to certain creators and their settings.
☝️ When the host of a game is not logged in, the report with game results isn't available.
How it works
If your plan gives you access to the Allow guest hosting option, you can enable it in kahoot's settings. It allows everyone to host and assign your game without logging in or creating an account.
- Access the kahoot creator.
- To create a new game with anonymous access: click Create in the top right corner of the platform.
- To enable anonymous access to an existing game: click the pencil icon next to an existing game in your Library.
- Click Settings at the top of the kahoot creator.
- Set the game's visibility to either Public or Unlisted.
☝️ The Allow guest hosting option is not available for private games. - Enable the Allow guest hosting option.
- Click Done and save the game.
When a kahoot with Allow guest hosting enabled is accessed by a user not logged in, they will see a Log in to save results block but will be able to continue without logging in by clicking Play solo, Host live, or Assign.
