Depending on your subscription level we offer:
💡 As a member, you will be only able to add themes to the Your themes section. These themes are visible only to you.
💡 As an owner or admin, you will also be able to add themes to your organization's themes section. These themes are visible to every member of the shared workspace and can be set as default.
Standard theming
With the Standard Theming, you can add the company logo and choose from our 4 standard backgrounds.
Logos must be a JPG or PNG file type, no larger than 2MB. We can recommend the PNG format if you want transparency.
After you click the icon, a window will pop up on your screen where you can add the logo and select the background.
Don’t forget to add the title at the top of the window to let your Team Members know in what context this theme can be used. In the top part of the window, you will see a visualization of how your theme would look during the game.
Custom theming
With Custom Theming you can upload your company logo, choose from our collection of custom themes, upload your background image, and use a background color picker.
After you click the + icon, a window will pop up on your screen where you can add the logo, and background image and select the contrast color (add accents in a color of your choosing).
Logos must be a JPG or PNG file type, no larger than 2MB.
Recommended resolution for background images: > 3840*2560px.
Size: Below 2MB
File type: JPG
Don’t forget to add the title at the top of the window to let your Team Members know in what context this theme can be used. In the top part of the window, you will see the visualization of how your theme would look during the game.
How to choose a theme
Both organizational and Kahoot! Themes can be selected in the Themes section of the kahoot creator. After clicking on the selected theme, you will see the visualization within the creator.

The themes with your logo uploaded are not available for public games. To be able to access the themes that you or your team members created, you need to change the visibility to private or unlisted. |
The number of available themes from Kahoot! Theme Pack depends on your subscription level.
You may see sections marked with stars. If you select one of the options from those categories, you will not be able to save your game until you upgrade to a plan that includes this feature or until you change the theme to Standard.

Do you offer white-label theming?
Yes, Immersive branding and Exclusive branding are available with our Publisher plans. You can read more and contact the relevant team here: https://kahoot.com/academy/publisher/.

How do themes work with legacy plans?
If you are subscribed to a legacy plan (a plan that is no longer in our main offer) that includes branding, you will not be able to create themes without upgrading.
You can still use your branding. If you have a logo uploaded in the settings of the workspace, you will see an automatically generated theme with your logo in kahoot creator that you can utilize in your games.

How to set a theme as the default for my organization?
This is available only to the owners and admins of shared workspaces.
The default theme has to be created within the organizational themes section (above the "Your themes" section). Afterward, the owner or admin needs to click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the theme's icon and select the Set as default option.

Where's the first theme

Perhaps you're referring to a simpler "standard" theme that we used to have?
In the past, the standard theme had been a flat color of either purple, blue, or grey with a few subtle shapes. We've recently updated it to an illustration of a classroom for teachers and a lecture hall for higher education professors.

I have max subscription but I can’t do custom theme where I can upload my own background. What is wrong here?
Hi Khaother! Kahoot!+ Max for personal use lets you customize theme background colors (standard theming). You would need to consider Kahoot! 360 Pro Max to get custom theming.
How do we remove the theme? I just want a plain white background.
