What happens to your kahoots with premium features when your plan expires
Find out what happens to your kahoots with premium features when your plan expires. Learn about editing limits, duplicating kahoots, sharing restrictions, and educator-specific changes.
💡 Tip
If your subscription has expired, some premium features in your kahoots may no longer be editable. To avoid losing your work, we recommend duplicating the kahoot before making further edits.
- The original kahoot (with premium features) will remain saved and unchanged.
-
In the duplicated version, you can freely edit without restrictions. (Note: you will need to remove any premium features from the duplicate.)
This way, you preserve your original content while still being able to update and use your kahoots.
👉 If you are a Business user:
After a subscription downgrade, visibility and sharing options for new kahoots may be more limited. You may no longer be able to share new kahoots outside your organization or with the public unless your plan allows it.
👉 If you are an Educator (K–12):
Downgrading from EDU plans will remove access to Word Cloud, Open-Ended, and Brainstorm question types. Kahoots that already include these types can still be played (excluding the question types mentioned above), but you won’t be able to add, edit, or duplicate questions of these types once your plan changes.
