- Accessibility: Helps participants with small devices or visual impairments
Best practice: Always turn this on when hosting remotely or in hybrid environments.

- Click Host live to open the game lobby.
- Go to Game settings (gear icon).

FAQ: Showing questions on the player screen in Kahoot!
-
Who benefits most from this mode?
Remote learners, large classrooms, participants with small screens, and participants with visual impairments.
-
Does this work in all Kahoot! experiences?
Yes, it applies to all live experiences.
-
Can I set this as my default?
Yes. Once enabled, the setting is saved for next time.
-
Does this work in assignments (self-paced kahoots)?
Assignments already display questions/answers on participants' devices by default. -
Will this affect game speed or connectivity?
It requires a stable internet connection, but generally does not slow down gameplay. -
What if some players still can’t see questions?
Ask them to refresh their browser or update the Kahoot! app. -
Does this increase bandwidth needs?
Often, yes. If everyone is on the same local network, bandwidth per participant rises significantly because devices preload images/videos simultaneously. If players join remotely, the host’s bandwidth is roughly the same, and the participants’ networks carry the extra load. (See bandwidth recommendations.) -
Why do questions appear later on some devices?
This mode loads more content per device; due to device processing differences, questions may not load simultaneously. -
Videos aren’t playing for some players - why?
Videos come from YouTube or Vimeo. If either is blocked by the network or security software, those players won’t see videos. Ask your admin to allow access.☝️ Youtube videos are no longer supported for business and social users. Read more here.
✨ Key Takeaways
- Players can view questions + answers on their own devices.
- Useful for remote teaching, big rooms, and accessibility.

brilliant! can we set this as default so we don't have to change it each game?
Hi,
I`m going to renew payment, but can´t access the discount. Why?
How to upgrade
Hi @DavidStuartThompson! Thank you for your feedback. The settings you configure before hosting a kahoot are saved for future games. Once you enable them, you won't need to remember to set them again later.
Hey @yeboah28! Here's an article on How to upgrade or downgrade Kahoot! plan. If there are any problems or you have more questions, please contact us via this form: https://support.kahoot.com/hc/en-us/requests/new from the email connected to your Kahoot! account.
How do I set the leaderboard to display intermittently—every 5 questions rather than after each one?
Hi UzatuNarkes!
Thank you for your question! At the moment, Kahoot! automatically displays the leaderboard after every question in Classic mode, and unfortunately, it’s not possible to change this setting or show the leaderboard every 5 questions instead. However, we’re always working to make improvements based on your feedback.
For now, we recommend keeping an eye on our updates or sharing your suggestion to our Community forum - your input really matters to us!
