Curriculum standards and 70 languages in Kahoot! AI generatorEDU users can now select curriculum standards (currently limited to US standards) in the Kahoot! AI generator to automatically align questions and tag the resulting kahoot. Additionally, you can now generate kahoots in 70 different languages!

Start Classic experience sessions with no controllersWhen hosting in Classic experience, you don’t need to wait for participants to join before starting the game. Click Start whenever you’re ready – participant can still join later using the game PIN or QR code.

Formats for generating kahoots with AIWe’ve added a new help guide that makes it easier to pick the right format for your goal when generating a kahoot from a topic, PDF, slide deck, website URL, or Wikipedia article using AI. Formats are ready‑made structures that shape how your AI‑generated kahoot looks and feels, including the balance between slides and questions and the overall learning goal. In this guide, you’ll find short, practical descriptions of each AI format, the question types it typically uses, and real‑world examples of when to choose it. The article also includes final tips on mixing formats across a unit or training program and reminders to always review AI‑generated content before you play.

New fonts added to Immersive BrandingWe’ve heard your requests — and we’re excited to bring more ways to align Kahoot! with your brand. Two new Google Fonts, Hind and League Spartan, are now available in Immersive Branding. Immersive Branding allows you to create a more fully branded experience beyond Custom theming. You can now choose from 112 custom fonts, along with additional customization options like color palettes and lobby music, to make your kahoot sessions feel truly on brand.

Characters update in Accuracy experienceAny host can now disable the usage of characters in Accuracy experience in the settings. When characters are turned off, only nicknames are celebrated on the shared screen. For Kahoot! for business and higher education users, characters are disabled by default in Accuracy experience, with the option to turn them back on if needed.

📚 Expanded curriculum standards support (EDU plans)We’ve expanded curriculum standards support on the Kahoot! platform! Educators on eligible EDU plans can now tag kahoots and courses with an even broader range of curriculum standards, including all 50 U.S. state standards, CCSS, NGSS, ISTE Standards for Students (ISTE-S), and NCSS.

New hosting experience: Confidence experience (New on December 22, 2025)
Confidence experience is a new hosting experience in Kahoot! that celebrates progress over perfection and helps everyone feel safe to take risks and grow. Learners can focus on building confidence and understanding instead of worrying only about how fast they answer. This experience is especially useful when you want to reduce pressure, encourage participation, and support learners who may need more time to respond. |
Feature update: Copy-paste images to upload (New on November 27, 2025)
The paste images to upload feature lets you add images to your kahoots faster by pasting them directly from your clipboard into the image upload box. This is perfect for screenshots and web images, because you no longer need to save files before you upload them. Just copy an image (for example, a screenshot) and paste it into the image field in the kahoot creator. Kahoot! will handle the upload from your clipboard. |
Feature update: Added 15‑second time limit option (New on November 25, 2025)You can now choose a 15‑second time limit for your questions in the kahoot creator. This new option adds more flexibility between the existing 10‑second and 20‑second timers and comes from a highly requested user need for an ideal time limit per question in that range. Use the 15‑second timer when you want to:

Feature update: Edit all time limits with one click (New on November 15, 2025)A common user request has been the ability to change the duration of every question in a kahoot at once. With this feature, you can now apply the same “Time limit” setting to all questions in the creator with a single action. This makes it much quicker to:

Feature update: New accessibility option in Accuracy experience (New on November 5, 2025)To make Kahoot! even more inclusive, Accuracy expererience now includes an accessibility option that lets you turn off the timer altogether. Hosts can enable unlimited answer time so participants can respond at their own pace, without any time pressure. This is especially helpful for:
