Creating your Kahoot! profile is quick and easy. Follow these steps to sign up on our web platform:

  1. Go to kahoot.com and click Sign up.
  2. Choose your account type (Teacher, Student, Personal, Professional).
  3. Provide your context details, such as your role or date of birth.
  4. Verify your email and set a secure password, or choose a Single Sign-On (SSO) option.

How do I choose the right Kahoot! account type?

Kahoot! offers different account types tailored to specific needs:

  • Professional: For business or nonprofit training and engagement.
  • Teacher: For K-12 and Higher Education instructors needing classroom tools.
  • Student: For learners wanting access to study modes and creation tools.
  • Personal: For hosting quizzes with friends and family.

What information is needed for my account type?

  • Teachers: You will need to specify your workplace, such as a K-12 public school, Higher Ed institution, or Business.
  • Students: You must enter your date of birth.
  • Personal: Choose your context (Friends & family, Colleagues, etc.) and enter your date of birth.
☝️ Accounts are limited by the Children's Privacy Policy if you are under 13 in the US, under 16 outside the US, or under 14 in Korea. You must also create a username (up to 20 characters using letters, numbers, underscores, or periods).

How do I verify my email and password?

After entering your details, you will need to enter an email address and set a password between 6 and 20 characters. Check your inbox for a verification link to confirm your account.

☝️ You have exactly 7 days after creating your account to verify your email. If your email is not verified, you will not be able to reset your password in the future.
 💡 You can skip the email verification step entirely by choosing to sign in with an SSO provider like Google, Microsoft, Apple, or Clever.

How do I select my Kahoot! plan?

Once your account is created, you will land on the Pricing page.

  • Scroll to find the Free plan, which is always available.
  • If you need more features, consider a paid plan. Paid subscriptions unlock larger participant limits, advanced question types, detailed reports, and more.
