How to cancel a renewal of your web subscription

How does cancellation work
It's important to understand that canceling your subscription is not the same as deleting your account or using your right to withdraw.

Canceling your subscription renewal means you're simply stopping future automatic renewals. You can continue to use your account and all its prepaid features until the end of your current billing cycle. Typically, you can cancel the renewal directly from your account settings (See: How to Cancel).
Renewal cancellation goes into effect at the end of your current prepaid period. You and your workspace members (in case you have a team plan) will have full access to your plan’s features until then. We do not refund dues already paid.
- The right to withdraw (also known as a cooling-off period) is different. This allows you to cancel your subscription entirely with immediate effect and receive a refund. This option is usually available only within a short timeframe, typically 14 days from your original purchase date. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may find a withdrawal button in your profile -> Manage subscription section. Alternatively, you can contact our support team directly.
Please note that deleting your account within 14 days of a subscription purchase doesn't trigger your right to withdraw. Your subscription won't be automatically refunded just by deleting your account.
How to cancel
From your account settings menu, choose Billing in the list of Settings.
On the billing page, click Manage subscription. This will take you to a secure area where you can view and change payment details. In the Subscription section, click Cancel Subscription.
Our system will ask you to confirm that you wish to cancel the subscription. The subscription is correctly canceled when you receive the confirmation of cancelation in the system (see below). Make sure to follow the process and confirm the cancelation until the notification with confirmation is displayed.
Once your billing period is finished after the cancelation, you will be downgraded to basic access.
- All content in your personal folders will be available to you. You'll be able to host games with them. You won't be able to save edits without first removing features that are no longer available to you.
Individual plans
If you have an individual plan, you are the sole owner of your subscription and can cancel at any time.
The billing cycle will continue until it expires after you cancel.
Workspace (multi-licence subscription)
Within a Workspace, only the Workspace owners can cancel a subscription. The cancellation of a subscription in this case affects all the licenses within this Workspace. Therefore, the subscription will be automatically canceled for all Workspace members and admins.

Buyer beware. If you purchase through a school account they will continue to charge you even though you do not have access any longer, when you leave that school.
PAZ44_4600 I only signed up because it said I could cancel at anytime and you would not charge my account for one year only one month. I signed up for a, paid monthly, account over one year. I tried to cancel and the online statement said the account would end in 2018. I used the account for less than 30 hours. The Kahoot page didn't save my updated edits so my game at university had copy paste edit mistakes. It also didn't save my 10 and 30 second timings for the true false questions. I want to cancel my subscription. I'll pay for the month but i don't want to pay for a year. Sept 19, 2023 11:58 Pacific Time.
The new plans are terrible. I've used Kahoot for years with the Premium for schools (individual teacher) plan and created many original quizzes for my students. That plan cost me $72 per year. Now if I want to continue to use the quizzes I made that contain 'type the answer' type questions, I have to upgrade to a package that costs double the price. This is disgraceful. I already trialled the most expensive package and found out very quickly that it is not suitable for my needs. I do not use Kahoot for lessons or assessments, only fun review quizzes, and the new AI assist feature still needs a lot of work. Thankfully Kahoot customer services cancelled that subscription very quickly and refunded my payment. However, I was not returned to my original plan and instead have been left with more expensive and less satisfactory options. Beware before you buy.
