Payment methods for Auto-Pay
If you provided a payment method to start a subscription, your saved payment method will be charged immediately and automatically when your annual billing cycle renews. Cancel the subscription beforehand to prevent a future charge. We accept the following payment methods:
- Debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discovery, JCB, Diners Club, Union Pay and Carte Bancaires)
- Apple Pay (available on Safari browser only)
- Google Pay
- PayPal
Disclaimer: Some card providers impose a processing fee or require pre-authorization. Please contact your card provider if your card details are not accepted, or if the amount charged is slightly higher than what we invoiced. We only charge what's listed on our invoices.
Pay by invoice
For web subscriptions that support pay by invoice, you can choose to “pay by invoice” when starting your subscription. This option is only available on a few select plans. Please check if this option is mentioned on the feature list of your subscription. If you proceed with a manual invoice request, you will initially receive by email a $0 invoice for a temporary trial. Within 1-3 days, our team will manually create a new invoice with the invoicing details you submitted. This new invoice must be paid within 30 days. Invoices can be paid via the following payment options:
-
- Debit/credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
- PayPal
- EFT/EBT (Electronic Funds/Bank Transfer)
- Check (for invoices over $240 USD)
- ACH, EEF, and EHF payments may be available on a case-by-case basis (please reach out to see if we are able to make an exception for you)

I am wanting to pay monthly as a teacher I do not have $100 to pay
This is also something that a fellow teacher I work with is asking too.
I like to stop My Monthly payment
I want to pay monthly, please—not annually.
We currently offer annual billing for all of our educational plans, which allows us to provide the best value to our customers.
While we don’t have a monthly billing option, our website shows the monthly equivalent cost of each plan to help you better understand the pricing. All plans are billed upfront for the year.
We appreciate your understanding and are here to help if you have any further questions or need assistance.
I don't work over the summer so why should I pay for an annual subscription. You SHOULD offer a monthly plan.
@orozcom27 Thank you for your feedback regarding the subscription plans. Currently, Kahoot! offers annual subscriptions for teachers instead of monthly plans.
We understand that teachers may not work over the summer and might prefer a monthly subscription. However, annual subscriptions allow us to provide a more stable and predictable service, which helps in maintaining and improving the platform. Additionally, annual plans often come with a discount compared to the cumulative cost of monthly subscriptions, offering better value over the year.
We appreciate your understanding and are always looking for ways to improve our offerings. Your feedback is valuable, and we will consider it as we continue to evaluate our subscription models.
Hi ddonaldson84! We have contacted you via email, please check your inbox! :) Thank you!
I have a silver subscription I want to upgrade to gold, how do I work the payment and upgrade
Hi KAHOOT__szabo75! If you are upgrading your subscription, you will restart your billing cycle and be charged the full plan price (subtracting the value of the remaining unused time in your currently active billing cycle).
The time remaining on your active subscription will determine the precise amount that will go towards the upgrade as a credit. We will only charge you for the difference between the credit (prorated value of your remaining billing cycle) and your new subscription price.

How to update billing information and view invoices
Chiming in to throw my support behind a monthly payment plan. I teach for one trimester out of the year and would only need access for 3 months. Maybe if we had a monthly option we would eventually convert to a full year one. But I can't justify paying so much for just 3 months. I know the value may not seem like a lot to you but when you factor in other apps/sites teachers are paying for and using to make learning more engaging, it does add up quickly and then you are forced to decide and resources that have monthly payments will always win out with me. Love what I've see thus far but again can't justify right now. I hope you'll reconsider your monthly stance.
Are there any plans to add more quiz types such as: pair and match, increased limit to puzzle, and 2-category sorting? It'll be useful for assessment or general review for students.
Hi bakerstirregulars!
Thank you for your ideas about adding more quiz types. Your suggestions are valuable for us. We will ensure that your feedback is communicated to our product team for consideration in future updates. Your input helps us continually improve Kahoot!, and we appreciate your engagement and support.
Can't even imagine the amount of money you are losing by ignoring subscribers from monthly or 3 month plans each year.. You are potentially throwing millions of dollars away by excluding the monthly subscriptions model. Hope this changes soon
