You can organize your content with Kahoot! folders to make sure it's handy and easy to find.

- How to move or duplicate folders
- How to move kahoots into folders
Overview of folders
- In the Library views of team workspaces, you will see two categories of folders: Your folders and Team folders.
- In the Library view of your private workspace, you will see only the Your folders category.
- Folders can be created in your Your folders and Team folders spaces, not in your Favorites or Shared with you spaces.
If you have more than one workspace, you have separate Your folders and Team folders views in each of your workspaces. It means that if you create a folder in workspace X, you won't be able to find it in workspace Y. It's important to be mindful of the current workspace. You can easily switch workspaces using the left-side panel. Read more about it here.
My folders
- Your folders are accessible to only you, to organize your kahoots.
- You can create, rename, move, duplicate, or delete your folders.
- You can move your kahoots between folders, or into team folders.
- Other members of your team workspace cannot access the content you created and saved in the Your folders section unless it's shared via a direct link.
- If you move someone else's kahoot to your Your folders section, the kahoot will remain available to other team members.
Team folders
- Team folders are available when you join or create a team workspace (team subscription required).
- Team folders are accessible and can be created by everyone in your shared workspace except for limited members.
- Team folders can be duplicated, renamed, moved, or deleted by the admins, owners, and their creators.
- Only you can move your kahoots back into a personal folder.
☝️ Certain subscriptions restrict your ability to move kahoots from the Team folders to the Your folders. - If the team subscription expires, only the owner of the subscription will be able to access the Team folders' content.
☝️ Folders are not available for kahoots under Favorites or Shared with you, but there is a workaround for that!
💡 You can duplicate most of the kahoots. The duplicates will land in Your kahoots, where you can move them into folders.
How to create folders
- Go to the workspace where the folder should be located and navigate to the Library tab. Click the plus icon next to either Your folders or Team folders.
-
Type in the name of the folder and click enter. Done! Your folder has been created.
-
Your new folder is now created! Click it to open it, or click the three vertical dots to see more options.
How to move or duplicate folders
-
Click the three vertical dots to see more options and choose Move or Duplicate. A list of folders will appear where you can choose where you’d like to move or copy your folder.
- You can use the arrow ← symbol above the list to back out of the folder you’re viewing.
- Pick a destination folder and click Move here. At the top of your workspace, you’ll be able to go to your folder.
How to move kahoots into folders
- Click the three vertical dots on a kahoot’s card to see more options and choose Move.
-
To move multiple kahoots at once, hover over the kahoot’s card and click the faded check box in the top left corner. Then choose Move in the bottom right corner of the screen.
-
A list of folders will appear. You can use the arrow ← symbol above the list to back out of the folder you’re viewing.
- Open a folder and click Move here.

Hello, today i want to create a Kahoot to my students, but i can´t finish it, because it is a "draft", and i don´t know how to change it, so i can´t play with my students because i can´t share it with them. please can you help me?
This help article is not accurate. There is no "Move" option in this menu:
Hi jcooke60!
Currently, it is not possible to move kahoots that are favorited and created by other users within your library. You can only move kahoots that you have created. However, there is a workaround for this limitation. You can duplicate the favorited kahoot, and the duplicate will be saved in your own library. From there, you can move it to any folder you prefer.
Here are the steps to duplicate a favorited kahoot:
This way, you can organize the content as needed while keeping the original favorited kahoot intact.
This is an absolutely pointless feature if these folders are not available to the public.
I've created many folders to organize my kahoots but if other people go on my profile, all they see is a jumbled mess. I tested it with a dummy account.
Many people have already suggested this many times and there's still nothing done. I don't see what is the team's “priorities” are but this doesn't seem too complicated to do.
Also regarding the support comment above. Duplicating all the time is only clogging the server.
Thanks for your time.
