Kahoot! Library Trash lets you safely delete and restore kahoots, courses, and stories without losing them permanently. You can move content to Trash, restore it later if needed, or permanently delete it when you are sure you no longer need it. 📂 What is Library Trash, and where can I find it?
Library Trash is a dedicated space in Kahoot! for kahoots, courses, and stories you have deleted.
Instead of being gone forever, these items stay in Trash until you either restore them or choose to delete them permanently.
✅ Why it’s useful:
- Prevents accidental loss of important kahoots, courses, and stories
- Lets you restore deleted content anytime, as long as it has not been permanently deleted
- Helps keep your Library tidy while still giving you control over your materials
👉 You’ll find Trash inside your Library, under the selected workspace.
From there, you can:
- Restore kahoots, courses, and stories
- Permanently delete kahoots, courses, and stories.
🗑️ How to move kahoots, courses, and stories to Trash
- Go to your Library in the selected workspace.
- Find the kahoot, course, or story → click the 3 vertical dots → View all → Move to Trash.
- To move multiple content: select checkboxes → click the Trash icon.

IMPORTANT ● Deleting a kahoot, course, or story does not affect its reports. Reports must be deleted separately. ● Members & Limited members: You can only delete kahoots, courses, or stories that you created, and in Trash, you will only see the content created by you. ● Owners & Admins: Trash view defaults to Made by you. Toggle to see all organization members’ content. ● If an Owner or Admin deletes your content, you’ll get a notification. ● If you delete a folder, the folder will be deleted itself, but all the content inside goes to Trash. ● Drafts cannot be moved to Trash → they are deleted permanently. |
Before removing a kahoot or story to Trash, check if it’s part of a course. Moving it to Trash will remove it from the course.

- Open Library → Trash.
- Hover over the kahoot or course → click Restore.
- OR use the 3 vertical dots → Restore.
- OR use the 3 vertical dots → Restore.
- For multiple content: select checkboxes → click Restore.
When restoring, you will see a notification where the content will reappear in your Library, so you can easily find it.
❌ How to permanently delete kahoots, courses, and stories
- Go to your Library → Trash.
- Hover over the kahoot, course, or story → click Delete.
- OR use the 3 vertical dots → Delete.
- OR use the 3 vertical dots → Delete.
- Confirm deletion → the content is gone forever.
Once permanently deleted, the kahoot, course, or story cannot be recovered.
