My content got flagged, what should I do?
If your kahoot, course, or story is flagged or quarantined, you can edit it to meet policy and request a review. Keep it public (private items can’t be reviewed). For mistakes, contact Kahoot! Support → General → “Flagged/quarantined kahoot.” Reviews typically complete within ~24 hours after submission.

since when was this a thing?
I wrote a fact about how in the 1800's there was a job as a "poo and wee" collector and this got flagged. How amusing!
Amusing ineed. Would love the know who came up with their filter.
Made 35 question quiz in the Estonian language, no foul language, no copyright violations, and got quarantined within minutes! AI does falsely flagging!
And i can't do anything to change it because there are no violations in it and it does not say why it was quarantined! I don't know what to do. I am afraid to make next Kahoot quiz in Estonian language, because making 35 question quiz is an effort and what if it gets quarantined again for no reason whatsoever?
PS: I sent an e-mail to support and this problem was solved (support is fast and helpful). The word "pikk" (long) which caused it was completely harmless in Estonian language. In the context "pikk nina" (long nose) it was harmless as well. Automated detection system needs some tweaking and updating. Or it would be good if it at least showed to the creator what word is the culprit.
Got flagged again. 80's music quiz. This time figured it out myself: the culprit was singers actual name Tom Hooker. Had to remove his "naughty" name.
I am a teacher and my Kahoot got quarantined about 5 minutes before my class started, forcing me to come up with a new activity on the fly. The reason it was quarantined? The French word for "picnic" happens to have letters within it that spell a bad word in French. I am frustrated that I pay for this service and can't get a human being to override what is obviously an AI mistake.
I made a Kahoot for the book Code Talker, and it was flagged the second I saved it. I cannot change the language of most of my content without confusing my students. Why do we have to have this feature? Why not just stick to letting humans flag things if they see it? I changed some of the letters to "censor" certain words that I'm guessing got it flagged, so we'll see how that changes things. The words are in the book, so I don't think Kahoot has the right to make me change wording straight from the book. I dislike this feature GREATLY.
I didn't write any bad thing, I don't know why my Kahoot got flagged, plis check this
I agree
I made a Kahoot! for students learning a foreign language, and my game keeps on being placed on quarantine because one word vaguely resembles and English swear word (if it were grossly misspelt and mistyped). I have made multiple requests for the quarantine to be removed, but it either keeps on being placed back on quarantine or my requests are duly ignored.
Utter rubbish.
This has to be the worst AI ever. I have no pictures in the Kahoot and all of the questions are spelled correctly and only have to deal with the muscular system and muscular contractions.
Lo de kahoot es alucinante , por lo menos si lo ponen en cuarentena que digan el por qué y donde estaría lo que tengo que modificar para que se pueda aceptar.
No entiendo por que me bloquean mi kahoot si no tiene nada de malo. Ayuda porfavor!
IF you can flag and quarantine my kahoot using an algorithm and e-mail about it, why can't you email me the question number so I can delete it and teach. I'd rather lose one question because your system is poorly constructed than have to come up with a whole new lesson plan minutes before class starts. THis is supposed to be a helpful site. This has happened to me twice now and I'm about ready to stop using this platform out of frustration.
Terrible feature. I cannot get my kahoots out of quarantine and can only assume it is due to the fact that it is discussing "Master and slave nodes" regarding radio components. It is the nomenclature of the components. I have tried respelling everything but still no use. Blanket quarantining everything is not a solution.
This site repeatedly flags content addressing mental illness and alternate sexualities (in an academic context). Seems malicious and discriminatory to me.
Getting flagged without any reasons is frustrating. I teach first grade and use this as a spelling assessment where I purposely misspell things and the kids have to pick the correct spelling. I need to you to tell me exactly why I was flagged without having to go through all the hassle of emailing and waiting to see what is wrong.
Clearly your AI is poor, as my kahoot has breast cancer and other reproductive medical terminology that apparently was flagged. Very poor quality AI and not intelligent to discern smut from medical problems.
WEAK
We apologize for any inconvenience our moderation may have caused. Since Kahoot! is widely used in classrooms for all ages, we must be very particular about what we allow.
Please be aware that our moderation process is automated. When a kahoot is flagged, it is reviewed to determine if the word deemed "inappropriate or offensive" by the system is indeed inappropriate in the context of the sentence or kahoot.
Some words, although completely appropriate in certain contexts, can have hurtful or hateful connotations in others. Even a perfectly normal medical term might be used to offend or ridicule. Therefore, the system's role is to report a kahoot where a word could potentially be used with malicious intent, but the final decision is made by a human reviewer.
I already work 60+ hours a week as a teacher, I really don't have time for this system's nonsense. Either tell me what specifically is wrong with my Kahoot, don't censor it, or just don't default Kahoots to being public and needing censorship. Expecting me to do forensic analysis on what might have upset your AI is absurd, especially since a different AI of yours did most the writing on most of my questions.
Why would this not "quarantine" Kahoots into a state useable by the teacher in their own classroom? Why would the default be to potentially derail someone's lesson plan when your AI is dumb?
Hello benjaminolson25, thank you for your feedback. I understand your frustration with the current system.
The AI system is designed to ensure that content is shared publicly on Kahoot! adheres to community guidelines. It's true that our AI assists in generating questions, but it also applies the same content moderation rules to ensure consistency and safety. If the AI-generated content is flagged, it might be due to cautious algorithms. We are continuously refining these algorithms to reduce false positives.
If you ever need to use your kahoot right away, but it's quarantined, change its visibility to private so that you can use it as-is, it just won't be searchable in the Discover section: How to change kahoot's visibility. Making your kahoot visible only to you will also automatically remove it from moderation.
We understand that teachers have demanding schedules. We are working on making our tools more intuitive and less time-consuming. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us prioritize these improvements.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to enhance our platform. If you have any specific examples or further details, please send an email to help@kahoot.com, so we can assist you more effectively.
My kahoot was for 2nd graders to review spelling by choosing the word that was spelled correctly from 4 words, 3 of which were nonsense. My best guess was that including “gayve” as one of the incorrect choices for “gave” triggered the AI, but as many others have pointed out, FLAGGING THE QUESTION WOULD BE ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE MORE HELPFUL!
I completely understand the goal of preventing inappropriate or harmful content on a site for students. However, this was an absolute pain. I thought it was quarantined because of the answer to a question about Social Darwinism as it was a racist statement (because that's part of Social Darwinism…). I remade the Kahoot, editing that question, and my new Kahoot was quarantined too! After looking back through it, I found another question that used terminology to describe social classes in Spanish colonies. While these terms would probably be seen as offensive if you used them today, they are literally in the state standards for students to know. I am now up at 2:00 am because of this!
If Kahoots are going to be automatically flagged/quarantined, here are my suggestions for making life easier for teachers:
1. Flag specific questions, so we know which one(s) we need to edit or delete, rather than making us go through it and guess and try again multiple times.
2. Automatically reevaluate the Kahoot when we edit it so that we can just make a quick change rather than having to make an entirely new Kahoot or wait to appeal the decision.
Hello @gillian_detrick, Thank you very much for your feedback! Unfortunately, this feature isn't currently available.
We're constantly working on improving our product thus we value greatly our users' feedback regarding Kahoot!. There's nothing more motivating for us than hearing your ideas. I will forward your feedback to the appropriate department for consideration.
Since Kahoot! is widely used in classrooms for all ages, we must be very particular about what we allow. Our automatic filter blocks phrases previously used in contexts that can be perceived as inappropriate or offensive. We carefully monitor the contexts in which the reported words and their variations are used to ensure a safe experience for all users.
Like other users, I can't believe the moderation has become more strict about the content many kahoots have to offer.
I notice one particular kahoot from another user that has been flagged. This makes me wonder which words make the kahoot “inappropriate”, and the use of violent language like “killed” and “head caught on fire”, as well as the rather sexual “virgin”, is most likely the reason. If these phrases were not used in a violent, sexual, or explicit context, then that kahoot shouldn't have been flagged in the first place. Still, I want to see which specific content caused this kahoot to be flagged.

so my friends and i had the idea to find a bunch of silly and maybe inappropriate quotes from our messages, and put it in a kahoot and guess who said it. well, im using a home account for kahoot and i dont know why this shouldnt be allowed. i get how it shouldnt be for everyone like teachers and principals to see, but i should at least be allowed to play it without it showing up on the discover part.
I do not understand why my Kahoot was quarantined. It is an educational French language Kahhoot on Space.
I do not find the video very helpful is trying to resolve this issue.
Flagged my biology final study guide and now i can’t share with friends. it was flagged for no reason, thanks kahoot for having a terrible flagging system. get this fixed.
Hello @snowflakes0714ace, Since Kahoot! is widely used in classrooms for all ages, we must be very particular about what we allow. If you wish to create a game to play just with your friends and do not want to share it with others, please change it's visibility to private. https://support.kahoot.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002930528-How-to-make-a-kahoot-public-private-or-other
